Rules and Resources My Equipment Contact Me

Welcome to The Bugsite!

Homepage - The Bugsite

Hello! This is The Bugsite. In short, this is a showcase slash storage unit for every picture of every distinct species of living thing I've ever personally taken a picture of (With some exceptions: see the Rules and Resources up top for all that). As you can probably guess by the name, this is mostly insects because I am a really big fan of them and they're easy to find, but I do try to go out of my way and get pictures of EVERYTHING, to be fair.

While this was mostly just made as a more graphically pleasing way for me to store all of this information somewhere that isn't just a big file directory on my hard drive, I do want to be at least somewhat entertaining for people who happen to see it. That means variably helpful definitions on each page to help you understand what you're looking at, facts on each page for fun and profit(?), a basic search engine so you can just skip right to your favorite thing and stare at it!

If you're interested in things other than pictures of bugs and such, feel free to use the top row of buttons: Rules and Resources familiarizes you with my arbitrary little rules and organization systems, My Equipment details my actual physical cameras and such (Budgeted to death right now, but hopefully improving soon), and Contact Me is for, uh, doing that. I hope you enjoy the site!

(PLEASE NOTE: I'm not the best programmer/coder in the world, so this site isn't well-formatted for anything that isn't a fullscreen desktop web browser. Mobile browsing and/or downscaling the window may mess with things, so handle with caution!)

DISCLAIMER - No part of this site, be it code, image, or text, was generated by or with the assistance or inspiration of any generative AI or LLM. If your brain isn't a pile of steel-cut oats, you'll actually want to DO things you're passionate about.

LATEST UPDATE - September 25 2025: Changed the domain name because it's nicer to say, easier to find, and more fun. I've also set up a giant bugsheet in my backyard with a UV light and a big canvas tarp; it's working a little too well...
